XC 2009 Meet Summaries

Rogers Eliminator 5k, Downtown Rogers, 8/29/09

Rogers Lady Mountie FR Maggie Montoya blasted the Eliminator Hill Course on the overcast, humid early morning in a scorching 20:56 clocking to lead all females for an impressive 20 second win. Teammate JR Erica Owen was 3rd overall and 2nd among high school runners in a very respectable 21:40. Mountie SR Jeremiah Fleeman took 2nd overall and 1st in the high school division with a nice 17:22.

Owens Road Mile, Pearcy, 8/29/09

Amos Gerber (Lake Hamilton HS) and Angel Crawford (Lake Hamilton JH) took overall honors among the filed of 179 at 4:33 and 6:01, respectively, in the 24th Annual Owens Road Mile. Intsead of the former slightly down hill course on old Owens Road, the new course over Old Airport Road featured rolling hills. Caroline Tran (Lake Hamilton) won the Senior Girls in 6:03, Taylor Werst (Lake Hamilton) took the Junior Boys in 5:21, Rieves Payne (North Little Rock) win the Elementary Girls Half Mile in 3:26 and Sky Jackson (Acorn) won the Elementary Boys Half Mile in a swift 2:43. Lindsey Mills (Lake Hamilton) was 2nd in the Junior Girls and 2nd overall in 6:02.

Rogers Eliminator, Elementary Races, Downtown Rogers, 8/29/09

Over 70 elementary school runners toed the line starting at the Frisco Caboose and raced through historic downtown Rogers along the 1K brick streets course and took on the Mini-Eliminator Hill just before the finish. A new Meet Record and Course Record was set in the Boys K-2nd Race by Cole James, a 2nd grade student at Rogers Bellview. James raced home in 3:21.71 to smash the old record of 3:30.56 set by Riley Johnson, Rogers Reagan in 2006. Other race winners were:

K-2 Girls: Marisa Fontana, Providence Academy, 2nd, 4:17.44

3rd-5th Girls: Anna Randels, 3rd, Rogers Bellview, 3:09.95

3rd-5th Boys: Dakota Duffield, 5th, Rogers Bellview, 3:10.47

Randels posted the best time of the day at 3:09.95.
